Why it matters
Normally a temperature alarm sounds only once the fridge has already warmed, and by then the doses may be gone. Sankofa Cold changes that, giving staff warning of a failure while every dose is still safe.
What Sankofa Cold does
Sankofa Cold puts edge AI on the fridge itself. A small device reads the fridge’s electrical signals together with its temperature, humidity and vibration, 27 parameters in all. A compressor wearing out, an unstable power supply or a door that no longer seals each leaves its own signature in those signals long before the temperature moves, and the AI on the device recognises it on the spot. Staff learn what is failing in time to move the vaccines or fix the fault. The device fits the fridges and freezers already in use in about five minutes, with no tools, and health agencies see every fridge in a single live view.
